5 Easy Last Minute Halloween Costumes

Sometimes it can be so hard to decide what to be for Halloween, but then once you decide you have to get all the parts of your costume, or make things and it can become a pain. Especially when you work full time and have a family and the world is already going a million miles a minute! Well I am here to help with 5 simple costume ideas that will (hopefully) only needs items you already own – read on for some costume inspo!

  1. Rosie the Riveter

sb_rosie_the_riveter

Everyone knows this lady, with her determined expression and red bandanna she is ready to conquer the world. All you need for this costume is a navy blue or denim shirt with sleeves that can be rolled up and a red bandanna. and of course some red lipstick!

2. Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s

This costume may require a little more work, but a black dress with some black gloves and up-do and some major jewelry there will be no mistaking who you are

3. Lucille Balllucille-ball-9196958-3-402

If you have longer hair I would suggest looking up a tutorial on how to do a poodle hair style, some red lips and any retro style clothing would do the trick – also yelling about Ricky a lot would be a dead giveaway, lol

4. Stevie Nicks00-tout-stevie-nicks-boho

The original white witch! The hardest part of this costume would be the top hat but luckily most costume stores carry them at a reasonable price.

5. Frida Kahlo

Almost anything will do for this costume as the flowers, hairstyle and famous brows make it recognizable. Awesome costume and a way to pay tribute to a awesome woman!

Beauty : 5 Products I Use Daily

I am a firm believer that not all great things or products have to be expensive, and often times the unexpected can surprise you. Even though Fall is approaching and a change in season usually means a change in products I thought I would share 5 of my favorite products that I use daily.

1. Ciate Eyeliner and Stamp This eyeliner is hands down my favorite and that is a huge statement to make because I have tried a lot of eyeliners! It is so pigmented, dried matte and does not crack it flack at all. The application is really smooth and what’s better is it comes with a star stamp on one end. I do however this this is a limited release as I could not find it on the Ciate website, but Fierce Flicks liner is great as well

2. Tarte Shape Tape If you watch and beauty vloggers or influencers you already know that everyone is obsessed with this stuff! I was skeptical at first, but I too love it. The coverage is great, it is super easy to blend and it has a citrus sent that I love. Although it is on the more expensive side it is the best concealer I have found thus far

3. Essence Rock & Doll Mascara this is just so good! I would compare it to Benefit, There real mascara but better because it is around 6$!

4. Profusion Contour Kit I bought this as one of those end cap gift ideas around Christmas and have used it almost everyday since! It is so affordable and it really does have perfect contour colors, and the included highlighter is not bad either as well as the matte base color I use as a eyeshadow base before colors.

5. Maybelline Fit Me Loose Powder I prefer a loose powder over pressed when setting my face and this one is awesome! Really does last all day and also works well to bake oily areas. A really great option is you need a more affordable setting powder

What are some of the beauty products you use on a daily basis?

Happy day to you!

Currently Loving : Fall Fashion Finds from Zara

Colorado is getting its first Zara and I am thrilled! Jerrod and I have only ever been able to shop at Zara when we visit other cities and I really love all of their stuff so I am so excited! Another thing that I am super excited for is Fall; so while perusing online I thought I would share some of my favorite prices right now from Zara for the upcoming colder months.

I am all about the fact that the plaid pant trend is back and can I also mention the PVC shoes and purses. I love! They are such a blast from my past because I totally remember things like that when I was in middle school, but as they say all fashion comes back in at some point. 😝

What is your favorite fashion trend?

Happy Tuesday!

Unexpected Skincare : Oil of Oregano

I know that you are thinking the exact same thing that I was when I first heard about oil of oregano for skincare; sounds completely weird! Well, I do still agree that it sounds odd, but I am all about weird power! 😜

I heard about oil of oregano working wonders on rashes and skin issues and sadly Jerrod has suffered from a reoccurring rash that pops up randomly so I thought what the heck!? He was previously prescribed a steroid cream to use, and it would make the rash go away, then it would just return somewhere else once he stopped using it! Super frustrating for Jerrod, not to mention expensive – a small tube was around 65.00$ – Yikes!

So while at Sprouts grocery shopping I suddenly remembered that I should pick some up. I was able to find it easily and even though it was more expensive than I anticipated (10-12$ a bottle) it will last so much longer then the prescription cream, and better yet we know what’s in it!

So Jerrod has been using it for over a week now and even taking 2 days off when we were out of town the rash is gone and has not come back anywhere else! A little goes along way – 2 or 3 drops a day! I also occasionally suffer from eczema so this is a awesome solution for our skin woes.

I really wanted to share this awesome discovery of ours with all of you, but as you know, I am no doctor, so be sure to talk to your health care provider for more information and if it is a good fit for you.

If you do end up trying it please let me know if it works for you! I would love to hear your experience

Happy Wednesday,

My Love / Hate Relationship with Acrylic Nails

I am a true freak about my nails – it is the one part of my appearance that I always want to be “done” I have no issue going without makeup, or my hair being a mess, but girl, my nails need to be on point. That being said I have had such a love / hate relationship with acrylics over the past 5 years or so. I will taken them off and immediately regret it, then I will get them done and think they are a pain – first world problems!

I know that acrylics are very on trend right now so Before you take the plunge here are my pros and cons

Pros

• your nails rarely break / the polish hardly ever chips

• they always look great

• your nails are all the same length – this is a big one for me ( and probably all A type personalities)

• they are relatively low maintenance as you only get them done ever 2-3 weeks, rather than doing your own which is weekly

• give you more delicate manners. This sounds totally crazy but when I have longer acrylics on I totally have softer hand movements, and am more delicate in general

Cons

• you have to pay to have them done

• it can be time consuming

• sometimes they can be painful – especially when they break!

• if you like them long, like I did, the. Everyday tasks, such as typing, can become more difficult.

• by the time you need a rebase they look pretty rough

What are your thoughts? Natural or acrylic? I can’t seem to pick a team! 😂 Happy Tuesday

Beauty Review : Shea Moisture

I love skincare and I luckily don’t have skin sensitivity so I can try new products pretty freely. I do have a subscription to Ipsy so that is a great way to discover new brands but this little gem I randomly bought when we were in California and I forgot moisturizer. I stopped in Safeway and in their VERY limited beauty section found this guy and I have used almost every day since!

It was not something that I would normally grab, especially when I just needed it to hold me over until we returned home, but I am very pleasantly surprised.

Pros:

-I have had the same jar for quite some time because a very small amount of the product goes a long way

-the formula is awesome and my skin feels super hydrated in the morning and not weighed down

-the packaging is sleek and it is easy to travel with or just to keep in your purse

– It is a miracle for sun burns! I was doing yard work and got a lot of sun on my face and back and lathered myself in this stuff and my sunburn was almost gone the next day. Say wha?!

– It says it is for problem skin (acne prone and oily) but I would consider my T-zone oily at worst and it has been great all over my face and neck

Cons

– This little guys is around $15.00. I know that can be considered super affordable for some because skin care can be so dang expensive but this girl is cheap. (That being said I will totally repurchase it!)

– the scent (I personally don’t mind it, and have actually grown to like it) but some may not be able to deal, more of a earthy natural scent rather than floral or what have you.

If you decide to give this moisturizer a try please let me know what you think – Happy Tuesday
